Late at night. Long sits with a journal he's never filled past three pages. Two years of work: constant overtime, refusing to take leave, never once telling anyone "I'm tired." Tonight he picks up the pen — not to write to anyone else, but to himself.

Moment 1

For two years he pushed himself to keep grinding, never once letting himself rest. Tonight he opens the journal and writes the first three words: I'm sorry. Not to a boss, not to anyone else — to himself, for forgetting that he too deserved kindness.

Moment 2

Every time he was tired, he'd scold himself for being lazy. Now, sitting still, he finally dares to write it down: you weren't lazy, you just needed a break. It's a line he's owed himself for a long time — he just never dared to say it.

Moment 3

Every day he measured himself against others, every day he came up a little short. Tonight he apologizes to himself for that. Writing it down feels strange. But when he closes the notebook, something loosens — and for the first time, he can breathe.

For two years I thought I wasn't enough. Enough of that. I already am.

How long has it been since you said something kind to yourself?
