A Little Homesick, Then Trying Again

Every night, Quang opens a delivery app instead of cooking. Not because he's lazy — standing in the kitchen to cook always brings back his mother's kitchen back home.

Moment 1

Cooking means remembering. So he just taps to order, and leaves the kitchen light off, unused — a habit he repeated more times than he could count, just to avoid facing that feeling.

Moment 2

But this Thursday night, he cooked. Turned on the TV, sat down to eat. First bite in, he paused — the dish tasted exactly like what his mother used to make. He didn't say anything. Just kept eating, no rush.

Moment 3

When he finished, he felt a little homesick. Not sad, really — just a little. Then he stood up and kept tidying up, because tomorrow still had things to do, and life was still waiting.

Missing home doesn't make me weaker. It's just one more reason to try.

Some kinds of missing don't need to be hidden — they just need to become a reason to keep going. What are you homesick for, and is it pushing you to try a little harder?
