Midnight shift ends, she still opens her books

Midnight on a Friday. Hà just finished her shift at the bar, gets back to her rented room, showers quickly, opens her notebook. There's a test tomorrow. Her hair isn't even dry yet.

Moment 1

The coffee on her desk went cold without her noticing. She doesn't complain to anyone — not because it isn't hard, but because explaining it is its own kind of tiring. Right now her classmates are asleep or watching something. The coffee's cold. She keeps studying a little longer.

Moment 2

Thursday morning, her head drops onto the desk mid-class. A classmate asks why she's so tired — she just laughs it off. No one in her class knows she waits tables three nights a week. They only see the dozing, and she doesn't explain any further.

Moment 3

Not every night is like this. But on the nights that are, she always pushes through one more chapter before sleep. She closes the book, turns off the lamp — no one's here to tell her she did well, but she knows it herself.

No one pats her shoulder to say well done. She knows herself that she tried.

Some effort goes unseen by everyone but you — are you quietly pushing through something like this too?
