Rejected 7 Times, Still Sends the 8th
July 5, 2026

The 7th email says the same line: "We've decided to move forward with another candidate." The first time, it stung a little. By the 7th, Phuc just wants to close the laptop.

23, fresh out of college, he's sent his resume to 7 companies in 6 weeks. Two never replied, five said no — some through an automated email, some over a phone call. The same line, repeated enough times, stops hurting and just goes numb.

This morning he opens his resume file again and reads it from the top. Twice. Nothing wrong that he can find. Not because it's perfect — sometimes the problem was never really him.

He opens a job site, scrolls once — finds 3 listings that look like a fit. Not sending guarantees nothing. Sending at least leaves a chance. He opens his email and sends all 3.
Seven times isn't the end. Maybe the 8th is the one.
Which attempt did you stop at?
