It's Okay to Get Nothing Done Today
July 3, 2026

9am. Linh opens her laptop — a client project is still waiting. She stares at the blank screen for a while, then closes it. Not laziness — the words just aren't there today.

She opens the laptop at 9am and stares at a blank screen for twenty minutes. Not a single line comes out. She used to force herself to sit there until something appeared, even just one sentence. Today she closes the laptop instead, and stops trying.

By 11am the project is still unfinished. She scrolls for an hour, gets nothing done, and starts blaming herself — until she suddenly remembers: this week she already shipped 3 projects, answered dozens of emails, sat through back-to-back calls. Her brain doesn't want to run today. So be it.

It's evening now, and the project is still sitting there. But instead of forcing herself to open the laptop again, Linh steps out onto the balcony, watches the sky for a while, makes a cup of tea, and goes to bed early. Not giving up — just not that kind of day.
It's okay if the brain rests for a day. Tomorrow it runs again, and that's fine.
Have you let yourself rest today?
